His Eye is on the Sparrow

Those who know me, know that I do like to sing...and sometimes it sounds good, and often I don't really care if it does or not. That is simply one way I express myself. I have always been a lover of music. What genre do I like? Well, I grew up in church and listening to all sorts of Christian music...whether it was "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine!" or "Jesus loves me this I know, for the bible tells me so!" or now, "Shout to the Lord all the Earth let us sing...Power and Majesty, Praise to the King...Nothing compares to the promise I have in YOU." (These songs have always been my favorites...and there are so many others, too!)

Although, lately...I have had a certain favorite. One that has been fitting and inspirational.
His Eye is on the Sparrow

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me

I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

“Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

This song, my friends, is beautiful. Just beautiful. I love it. My prayer is that these words are more than just words and that it blesses you the way it has me.
