pros & cons

Those of you who know me, know that summer is my all-time favorite time of year for many reasons. One reason in particular is that there is no school. This summer has been absolutely amazing...filled with trips, sleepovers, parties, time spent with some of my favorite people, etc... All things must come to an end eventually, and it seems that summer vacation is one of those things.

Don't get me wrong, I love school, but I hate going back to school after a wonderful time off. I can think of a million reasons why I don't want to go back and here are just a few:
  1. The alarm goes off at 6:30 rather than no alarm going off at all.
  2. I have to make myself go to bed at a reasonable time when I would much rather stay up late at night.
  3. Unreasonable teachers who are clearly working just to make money rather than trying to help students.
  4. Homework that never seems to end.
  5. Projects that add to the homework pile of things to do.
  6. Drama from other students, I hate that crap.
  7. Immaturity...nuff said!
  8. Crowded hallways.
  9. Constant monotonous schedule that I strongly dislike.
  10. Certain classes I will not enjoy-- like geometry and biology. ha.
  11. I find myself waiting for the weekend and holidays.

On that negative note, here are some reasons why I actually like school and am looking forward to it. Imagine that?? :)

  1. I've missed seeing my friends everyday.
  2. I actually like to learn.
  3. A schedule can be a good thing.
  4. Cool classes and things I am really interested in....like Journalism.
  5. New beginning to the way I approach school work.
  6. This is just another step to my future, what I do in school now determines where I go to college, etc.
  7. New teachers who are actually trying to make a difference in their students' lives.
  8. New grades...
  9. New friends...
  10. A great way to start fresh and get off to a new start.
  11. There are weekends and holidays to look forward to and thank God for that! :)

And hey, there is always next summer, right? :) I would much rather have summer all year long....but since that just isn't possible I'm going to have an optimistic attitude about my sophomore year.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I plan to enjoy my last few days of summer. ;)
