summer update

Today was my first day of Driver's Ed. I have it Mon-Thurs this week and next from 8am-12pm each day. I wasn't thrilled when I found out that I would be taking it over my summer break, but I am so glad I am getting it over with. Like Pastor Steven and Holly said one Sunday...."Sacrifice is about giving up something good for something better."
I'm giving up 8 mornings of my summer....I could be doing something a lot more fun. But I am eventually going to get my license thanks to this class. I will eventually be able to go wherever I want and whenever I want, by myself. I won't need someone to take me somewhere. I won't have to depend on somebody to get me place to place. 8 mornings of my summer being taken away compared to eventually getting my learner's permit and driver's license....I think it is worth it. I would definitely say the payoff is better. More freedom and independence are on the way. Sometimes looking forward to the outcome makes things more positive.

This Friday, my Mom and I are headed to Virginia to see one of our closest friends, Sharon. We are looking forward to a fun trip together. I love these summer trips....and they are even better when it comes to seeing the people we love.

My aunt and I have been planning my trip to come and visit her for a week. Even though it is still one month away, we have each day planned out precisely. I am sooooooo excited. My excitement level just keeps going up, if that is even possible. I seriously cannot wait.

I hope to have more blogs to come. This week is hectic, I will try to squeeze in some blogging time. Happy Monday all.....

Life Goals: Part One

I have many life goals. I want to accomplish a lot in my lifetime. Here is one of them:

To have happiness.

It takes a lot to get me down, it's hard for me not to be happy. I try to make the absolute most of each and every situation I may find myself in. Most of the time, I am either smiling or laughing. I am a very happy, optimistic person. My life is everything I have ever wanted it to be and more. I am achieving this life goal. I am so happy.

RUDE.

I have so many pet peeves. One day I will list them on my blog, but that will be another day. My biggest pet peeves are the ones that are not only annoying but RUDE.

  1. NEVER ever SHH! me. I'm serious. That is rude. When I speak, I speak for a reason.
  2. NEVER snap at me. You know how when people try to get your attention because they need something at the moment and treat you as if you are a slave by snapping? That just doesn't work for me. I don't mind snapping, but it depends on how you mean it.
  3. Rolling eyes. That is just plain rude. Don't do it around me, mkay?

Whew. Now that I got that off my chest I can sleep in peace. Goodnight :)

glorious summer days

I started my summer off by spending three wonderful days with my family, grandparents, and Terri and Lacey (who were in town.) Each day was packed with fun, perfect, simple days of just being together. I know that I am so incredibly blessed to have these people in my life. It was an absolutely splendid kick-off to what seems like a wonderful summer.

Until now I had forgot just how great lazy days can be. Don't get me wrong, I love to be busy and on the go. I love that my summer is packed with wonderful things to do and awesome trips to take. But every now and then, there are days like today, where it has been rainy and dreary.....and I can lounge around in my pjs without a place to be or people to see. I went to bed at 1:30 this morning as I listened to wild thunderstorms and rain hitting my bedroom window. Then slept until 12:30 this afternoon. It's a wonderful feeling to roll out of bed with the satisfaction of having gotten the most perfect night's sleep. It's a simple day and sometimes that is exactly what I need.

In my previous post you saw my non-stop schedule.....and one more thing is now added to the list: I am spending a week in July in Charleston with my aunt Tewi and Lacey. I just found out yesterday and have been excited ever since.

Have a wonderful day. Make the most of it, you never know what tomorrow may bring.

This doesn't even cover it all. I am super excited about what is to come. This is by far my absolute favorite time of the year!

my best friends

I know that I've talked a lot about my family and just how much they mean to me, but I really haven't talked about my friends. I have so many friends....but, I have three that are closest to me. We are so unbelievably close. Katy, Kasey, Bryanna, and me. Our friendship reminds me of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, we are all so unique and so different and yet we were meant to be the best of friends. Truly we complete each other.....

I met Katy in kindergarten. We became extremely close in middle school.

I met Bryanna in 7th grade in math class.

I met Kasey in the 6th grade in PE class.

I can honestly say that I have never been the same since.....I never knew that we would be as close as we are now.

Katy, Kasey, and Bryanna: You are a big part of who I am. The statement "Friends are friends forever" seems true to me when I look at the friendship we have. I love each of you more than you know.

I honestly don't know what I would do without these three. We complete each others sentences, we talk ALL the time....even at three in the morning on sleepover nights, we have been there for each other, and most of all we have loved one another for who we are.
