my hospital visit

Well, today was a long day.

Last Friday I began having pain in my side and lower back...random sharp unbearable pain.
It didn't make since....we thought it may be my kidney with my health record. So, we went to the emergency room today, they did a CT scan, took my blood, and gave me fluid through an IV (after having poked me multiple times, might I add...)
After the tests and endless questions....the doctor came in and said that the tests were normal. She put me on antibiotics, and I will be fine.

I didn't know what to think going into the hospital. I didn't know how long I would be there. I didn't know what they would do. I didn't know what it could possibly be, if anything.

Through it all today, I realized even more so that I am so loved. The entire time my Mom was with me, talking me through it, distracting me as they poked me several times trying to find a vain, she was there giving me her support and love. She was by my side the whole time.

I also had endless emails, facebook messages/comments, and text messages coming my way on my phone. People encouraging me, praying for me, and thinking about me.

I had people who were lifting me up in prayer the whole time.

Most of all, I had my Jesus watching over me.

I got to leave the hospital knowing that everything is ok, and feeling more loved than ever.

God is good, ALL the time!

my daily schedule

This is what a typical day looks like for me on a weekday.
So, this is part of the reason I haven't been blogging. My blog is something I manage to squeeze in.

Every evening I have great intentions. I set my alarm for 6:30 am. Then in the morning I end up snoozing until 7:00 am, or my Mom calls my cell phone to make sure I am up. I am not a morning person, so mornings are difficult for me to get moving.
Once I finally get up and get ready...my brother and I are out the door at 7:35 each morning. (This leaves me running around rushing to get ready every morning.....)
School bell rings at 7:50, must be in class by 8:00 am sharp.
From 8-9:30 Algebra class (1st block)
From 9:36-11:10 Creative Writing class (2nd block)
From 11:16-1:20 World History class--Lunch is during History (3rd block)
From 1:25-2:55 English class (4th block)
At 2:55 the bell rings to go home. I meet my brother at the car and we normally get home around 3:15 as it takes forever to simply get out of the parking lot!

Once I finally get home I have plenty to do.
Most of the time I have homework. Almost every Wednesday I babysit at church. Other days I babysit afterschool for neighbors, etc. Sometimes I go shopping. Almost every night I have 1 or 2 tv shows to watch... then I have to shower and go to bed!

I try to be in bed by 10 pm. However, I love to stay up late and sometimes I don't get to bed as early as a planned.....There have been times I have been up past midnight and even later.

This is what my day to day routine looks like. I hope I can squeeze "blogging" into it more often....

Movie Review: Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail

This is probably one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. It is absolutely hysterical and so deep, all at the same time! I'm sure I will end up buying it once it comes out on DVD....if that gives you any idea as to how good it really is.
Here's a quick summary line to give you an idea of what it's about if you have yet to see it:
Mischevious Grandma Madea lands in jail, where she meets a variety of mixed-up characters. Madea learns a few things along the way, and even teaches others.
Here are some quotes that will have you laughing:

Madea: Cora do me a favor.
Cora: What?
Madea: Put the shut, to the up. Okay? Shut to the up.
Madea: I'm Madea! Ma to the D-E-A!
I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in my life! It is a must-see movie....I highly reccomend it.
One thing that stood out to me in Madea was the fact that the message of Jesus Christ was spread. The very fact that it has been number 1 & 2 in the box offices....AND the fact that it is spreading the Word makes me so glad. Who knows...a non-believer could possibly be hearing a message about Christ for the first time. They spoke on forgiveness in the movie, and brought up some great points. I think anyone could learn a little something from the movie.
Great movie. Go see it, really.... you should.

WWJD?

What Would Jesus Do?

Often times in my busy day-to-day schedule I forget... I don't think about my actions before I act on them, I don't think about what I say until it comes out.

One of my goals in life is to be more like Jesus. He is my ultimate role model for everything I do in life.

So for however many tomorrows await me, in any situation, I'm going to ask myself What Would Jesus Do?

food

I know, this is a silly title, but heck, I am silly.
You know how people often ask you what your favorite food is? And when you begin to answer you have no idea what to say because you pretty much like just about everything-except for a few things.
Well you see there are a few foods that I HATE. I hate the taste, smell, look, and even the name.
At the top of my list is seafood...seafood of any type. OMG. It looks, smells, and tastes nasty. And when you go to a seafood resturaunt, what do you see when you walk in? A big 'ol fish tank with adorable fish swimming in them! That's like walking into Burger King and seeing cows standing in the entry way. Ok, maybe not that extreme, but you get my point.
My second food that I hate are hotdogs. They look horrible, taste even worse, and to top it off have the word "dog" in the title.
My third food I hate is beans. Beans of any kind. They are just gross.
There are many more foods I hate, but those are the main ones. I'm really not that picky...but I am when it comes to certain foods.
Since it would take me ALL day to tell you about foods I love, I thought I would sum it up by telling you about foods I don't even want to look at. This post was my pure opinion, don't worry I have nothing against you if you hapoen to eat seafood, beans, or hotdogs like there is no tomorrow.
What are some foods that you simply cannot stand? Leave me comments.

Movie Review post coming soon!

keep the faith

When everything seems to be going wrong and isn't working out like you wanted, keep the faith.
When you are losing all hope, keep the faith.
When you feel like no one cares, keep the faith.
When you just aren't sure, keep the faith.
When you don't feel like God is listening, keep the faith.
When you wish everything would go away, keep the faith.

On Sunday, my pastor had a great sermon. One thing he said that really grabbed me was:
"God got you through your yesterdays, he will get you through your tomorrows..."
This is so true. I guess it was something I really needed to hear at that very moment.

No matter what, I am keeping faith because God will be with me by my side for all of my tomorrows.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6
