megan's quirks

  1. I hate whistling and other obnoxious noises. It's annoying and it makes me crazy.
  2. I wash my hands a million times a day and carry around hand sanitizer.
  3. I like everything to be in a perfect order, all the time.
  4. If a picture is crooked on the wall, I will fix it.
  5. If something is out of place whatsoever, don't worry, I'll move it until it's in the right spot.
  6. I actually like to clean. Well, I like things to be clean....not necessarily the process of doing it. And once I get started cleaning, watch out....clorox here I come.
  7. I am a jumpy person. Someone comes up behind me or if a suspenseful movie on, it's never a good thing.
  8. I don't function well without caffeine.
  9. Benadryl and other allergy medication make me super loopy, and most of the time I end up going to sleep after I take them.
  10. I have a weird laugh, according to some people anyway....and once I get started, I can't stop.

Talk to me, what are some of your quirks?

Another Time, Another Place

Today in English, we were asked to write down ten songs that we love and why. My number one all time favorite song is Another Time, Another Place by Sandi Patty.
The reason I love this song is because, when I'm losing all hope and when I think that everything is going wrong, I listen to this song, and realize that everything will be okay, because one day I won't have any worries or tears. For now, I'm living for Jesus. And one day I will meet Him face to face.

Another Time, Another Place

I've always heard there is a land
Beyond the mortal dreams of man
Where every tear will be left behind
But it must be in another time
There'll be an everlasting light
Shining a purest holy white
And every fear will be erased
But it must be in another place
So, I'm waiting for another time and another place
Where all my hopes and dreams will be captured
With one look at Jesus' face
Oh, my heart's been burnin'
My soul keeps yearnin'
Sometimes I can't hardly wait
For that sweet, sweet someday
When I'll be swept away
To another time and another place
I've grown so tired of earthly things
They promise peace but furnish pain
All of life's sweetest joys combined
Could never match those in another time
And though I've put my trust in Christ
And felt His Spirit move in my life
I know it's truly just a taste
Of His glory in another place

Things I love about Buddy....

I love the way he holds one of his babies in his mouth and kicks a ball around with his feet, all at the same time.

I love the way he greets everyone at the door, wagging his tail a mile a minute!

I love how he whines when he loses a ball under a piece of furniture, to tell you he needs help getting it out.

I love the way he looks after he has had a bath.

I loves the way he begs, resting his chin on you, all because he wants you to share your food with him.

I love the way he reminds you it is dinner time.

I love the way he grabs a toy from his basket and brings them to you.

I love the way he messes up the covers on my bed, just so he can get comfortable.

I love how he practically gives you a bath while giving you kisses.

I love it when he wakes me up some mornings, by jumping on the bed and greeting me with a kiss.

I love the way he loves his family unconditionally.

People I love....

  • My Mom. My Mom and I share something so special. Words don't even describe how much she means to me. She has truly been there for me since day one. Our hearts are connected in such a deep way, and they will never be disconnected. We are attached at the soul, forever and always. She is the strongest woman I know and loves Jesus like no other. She encourages me to be who I am, and to look on the bright side of things. She is the person I most want to be like.

  • My Dad. My Dad never fails to put a smile on my face. He is a dedicated Christian and a great man of God. He supports my family, and works hard at what he does. He has taught me to never give up. I am proud to say that I am his daughter.

  • My sister, Sandi. She is more than my sister, she is my very best friend. I confide in her more than anyone else in this world. She is someone I look up to and someone I know I can count on. No matter what, I know that she has my back. And Alex, (my brother-in-law to be :) thank you for making her the happiest girl in the world. I wish you both the very best.

  • My brother, Matt. No matter what, I will always love him. I can't wait to see what God does in his life. Every moment, with everything I am, I wish that him and I were closer, and I pray that one day we will be closer than ever.

  • My Mawmaw (S). She is beautiful inside and out. She is the glue that keeps my family together, those that count anyway. I love her more than anything in this world.

  • My aunt, Terri. She's more than an aunt, she is my friend. I am thankful for the special relationship we share. She is someone in my life who truly cares and understands. She is always there to listen. Terri has made a difference in my life. She is an incredible woman and I am so glad to be so close to her.

  • My Pawpaw (S). He is so sweet, and has come such a long way. He has come through so many times. I love him so dearly.

I feel more than blessed to have such AMAZING people in my life. Thank you, Jesus!! My life is incredible because of each and every one of you!!!
This is my People I love... Part 1 post. Come back for more later this week.

Things I love....

Here are just a few random things I love....

  • My blackberry phone, it is constantly with me. It is my lifeline and I am always either, texting, IMing, talking, or surfing the web on it. It is a lovely device that is well worth the money I pay on it monthly.

  • My hair straightner and hairspray. Believe me my hair would never look the way it does if it weren't for these things...

  • The pictures all over my house and bedroom. They reflect my family and myself. They remind me of so many great memories and they make my new house feel more like "home."
  • Hand sanitizer, being that I can't stand for anything to be dirty...especially my hands, I constantly have hand sanitizer with me. It helps a lot when you can't get to a sink.

  • Victoria's Secret PINK Sweatpants....they are so comfty and cute. I wear them around the house all the time.

  • Rainbow flip flops. I buy a new pair every summer, and end up wearing them year round. My feet are chlaustrophobic and I completely hate socks or any shoe that completely covers my whole foot.

  • Caffeine. I would not be as lively as I am everyday if it weren't for my caffeine jolt in the mornings.

another snow day

This morning, I woke up to beautiful snow.
Snow reminds me of Jesus. He blankets His love over us, like the snow blankets the ground.

Maybe this is a sign of His undying love for us. Just like when He died on the cross for our sins.

So today, instead of worrying about how you are going to get to work, or when you will have to make this day up at school...know that you will get through it, because Jesus is with you today and everyday.

a new semester, a fresh start

I have noticed in this past week, that I don't dread going to school anymore. First semester, I did. I hated it to be honest...I didn't like my classes, or my teachers, and I found myself bored a lot of the time.

This semester has been so much better even in just the first (and most hectic) week of classes. I am taking Creative Writing, English, Algebra, and World History. I absolutely love my Creative Writing class. Writing is something I am passionate about (explains why I have a blog...) and I am having so much fun. I have never had any problem with English. I don't really like World History or Algebra....but this semester it is totally different.

I think the reason that it is different is because of the teachers I have. The teachers I have are passionate about what they do. Last semester, my teachers didn't seem to have a care in the world. And this semester I have great teachers. Even in my least favorite class, World History, I am learning something and having more fun than I ever have had in a history class.

The fact that the teachers are passionate about teaching means so much to me. They are excited about what they do....and don't just stand in front of you giving you tons of work that needs to be completed within a week, and you have no idea what you are doing because they haven't spent any time explaining anything to you. It isn't like that, and these teachers show that there is more to school than work.

I don't find myself falling asleep in class, or pulling out my cell phone to send a quick text anymore...which I did (a lot) last semester.

This week is going to be great. And my favorite aunt in the whole wide world is coming to town. So that will be tons of fun. Have a great week everyone.
